at an early age i had a fascination for the projected image. as a kid i went to watch old horror flicks (FRANKENSTEIN, KING KONG, DRACULA) and comedies (LAUREL & HARDY, ABBOT & COSTELLO, CHAPLIN) at the public library. one day home sick from school i caught POTEMKIN for the first time. my dad took me to see REAR WINDOW and a hitchcock fan was born. in junior high i saw my first foreign films opening yet another door. i studied film at the university of colorado with great instructors including bruce kawin and stan brackhage. and continue my fascination with film through reviews on the kinetic eye blog and filmnotes.com.
