STORY
Matthew
Hundley and Bill Heideman met at an audition for a new wave cover
band (a project of Todd Bradley's). After several rehearsals they
set out on their own and began auditioning musicians for a band tentatively
called "Eve Tempted". They auditioned with a number of folks
including Jon Martinez and Ken Labarre.
Eventually, the two agreed to take part in the Dead Orbisons. For
their one gig, they wrote a handful of songs dealing with hard-hitting
subject amtter that many college students face. Plenty of press to
be had over the tasteless name. They played Quigley's with Narim Sin
and then moved on.
Matthew later moved into the "House of Seven" where Jeff
Cronin already resided. Jeff knew a female vocalist named Shelley,
and along with Bill Heideman the four started creating original music.
The name Human Document came from a victorian novel (which was used
for Tom Phillips "Humument" a treated novel).
After two gigs, Shelley was dropped from the line-up. A new batch
of songs was written and the band began defining a much harder sound
influenced by Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Voivod and
the like.
